Pensacola Fishing Charters at Redfish University. Lots of fishing and catching here at Redfish University. It’s been a HUGE Spring here at Redfish University with repeat clients and new anglers alike. So busy in fact, we’re cutting down on our weekend guiding as we can pack 5-7 Redfish University instructional and fish-catching trips into during normal business hours. This is a welcome adjustment for many reasons.
We’ve had some huge swings in the weather with very cold temperatures followed by some stable, seasonal temperatures as of late. One thing has remained constant and that is great numbers of redfish and speckled trout. We’ve begun our descent into the middle and lower bays as our groups of bait and schools of mullet have followed accordingly. Finding some topwater bites now on Sebile Bongas and Stickshadds and as always, Berkley Gulp! Jerkshads will clean up the rest of both species later in the morning. Catches remain in the 25-40 count for speckled trout with some in the 20-23″ range. For the redfish, we’re finding 8-12 per outing in all sizes. Lots of really great kid anglers lately and we hope they’ve been enjoying the complimentary Yamaha hats provided from our sponsor and friends at Yamaha Outboards. Today’s report and the rest of this week’s productive Redfish University outing will follow shortly. Thanks again for an outstanding Winter and Spring season at Redfish University. E Holstman
