We’re performing some great inshore fishing charters here in Pensacola, Florida this week. Returned from a much needed vacation over the weekend and was met with a full slate of Redfish University trips. Monday’s trip was postponed for later in the week due to bad weather and we packed two sessions in on Tuesday. Today’s morning trip was met with beautiful weather and slick conditions. Unfortunate, tomorrow and Friday’s weather may force more rescheduled trips at Redfish University and making next week a nightmare with all days filled except Christmas. May be interesting with doubles all week. Patience. ] Yesterday(Tuesday), we ran two instruction trips with some transplants from Texas and a few local anglers looking to learn our local waters a little better during the Winter months. The morning session consisted of lots of speckled trout and redfish in the upper bay system and then we really whacked the larger redfish on some shallow, clear flats. Again, our anglers prefer to sight fish with artificial baits in clear, shallow water and that’s exactly what they got. The afternoon session focused on the legal redfish and speckled trout in the northern bays and with the rising tide, we smashed both species!! Both groups of anglers were actually very talented but just needed some excellent locations and some detailed, fine-tuning to increase their odds. Today’s outing was a pure sight fishing festival with redfish of all sizes cruising shallow flats in some very clear water. For this style of fishing, we used Berkley Gulp! 4″ Shrimp in Lime Tiger to pitch at hungry redfish in the 15-30# range with light-medium tackle. We even took a few on Sebile Bongas when we saw groups of fish from a great distance. They showed no hesitation in pounding these extremely durable topwater baits. All fish released healthy and happy during all three Redfish University instructional and fish-catching trips. On a sidenote, Redfish University has assisted Pure Fishing with its promotional/advertising/community campaign on Facebook. As a Pro Staff angler for all companies under Pure Fishing, I will be contributing exclusive photos, videos, tackle demonstrations, inshore techniques and general insight on all Pure Fishing Facebook...

Pensacola Fishing Charters at Redfish University-Dec. 6-14, 2012
Redfish University Dec. 6-10, 2012–The instructional marvel of Redfish University continues to shine!! Most guide companies are somewhat steady in the Summer months but the off-season means a huge demand for Redfish University’s reputation with sometimes difficult conditions and the masses of local and traveling anglers searching for real guidance and instruction from an experienced, knowledgable and proven guide service. This has translated into extremely busy Fall/Winter seasons for our company since it’s creation. Lots of Pensacola Fishing Charter trips and great fishing at Redfish University. Five trips in the last fours and took Sunday off. Last Thursday and Friday’s instructional trips were outstanding with an enormous amount of speckled trout and redfish hitting the deck. Saturday’s double-header consisted of a pure fish-catching charter in the morning and another excellent Redfish University instructional trip in the afternoon. Our clients learn the best techniques in inshore fishing as well as catch big numbers of speckled trout and redfish. Yesterday’s instruction/catching charter was another awesome day of both species as well as some large redfish near the end of the trip. Berkley Gulp! Jerkshads, Johnson 1/4oz. Gold Spoons, Gulp! Sand Eels and Sebile Bongas were on the menu for all four days. An average Redfish University trip will yield 40-60 speckled trout from 14-23″, 10-20 redfish between 16-40″ with most in the 22-26″ range as well as some bonus flounder and many stripers in the next few months. Some catch and release but many hit the cooler. Stay tuned for this afternoon’s and tomorrow’s report in some of the most brutal conditions of the Winter thus far. We’re gonna produce some tremendous numbers of fish after a 30 degree temperature drop, 20 mph winds and rain. Thanks, E...

Guided Mr. Jim Tully and Mr. Dustin Martinson this morning in the upper bays. Both are avid anglers and were lots of fun to fish with. We were met with cold temperatures, a stiff wind and some very sneaky redfish. With the water falling rapidly, we started by targeting some shallow flats with decently clear water. After struggling for the first hour or so, we finally stuck our first fish, a 27″ 6.5# redfish. Continued on the same path for a while and then hit some shallow, muddy areas where we found them pretty thick. Lots of mid-size to smaller fish but plenty of them! Dustin has a few epic strikes after seeing fish leave the bank and made awesome casts to the waking redfish. Very cool hookups! Concentrated on replicating the same areas and it really paid off. Stuck with three techniques today. Jerkys, spoons and popping corks. All together over 20 redfish, 1 nice trout and a turtle. Please click on image to...
